The creative team behind OSCF

Jakub Bubnicki (Kuba)

Data scientist, leads TRAPPER, co-founder and CEO of OSCF.

Ecologist at MRI PAS, data scientist, and programmer with 15+ years of experience in camera trapping, GIS, remote sensing, machine learning, and statistical analysis. Leader of TRAPPER, co-founder, and CEO of OSCF (2018). Holds a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Warsaw.

Marcin Churski

Co-founder OSCF and researcher at MRI PAS

Forest ecologist at the MRI PAS in Białowieża, studying how herbivores, fire, and environmental factors shape the structure, function, and diversity of temperate forests. His work spans from plant adaptations to grazing to the conservation of temperate woodscapes, and he has participated in camera-trapping projects worldwide, also developing the Trapper software.

jakub domański

Full-stack developer

Developer with over 10 years of coding experience, combining full-stack development and data science. At TRAPPER, he contributes to the design and implementation of the platform’s backend, frontend, and data workflows. With a background in biology and programming, he focuses on building practical tools that support research and citizen science.

Karolina Kuczkowska

Backend developer

Interested in biodiversity informatics, bioacoustics and birdwatching; data manager in GBIF Poland.

Dries Kuijper

Co-funder OSCF and researcher at MRI PAS

He studies how herbivores shape ecosystems, from saltmarshes in the Waddensea and arctic tundra in Spitsbergen to the Białowieża Primeval Forest in Poland. His research explores plant–herbivore interactions, predator–prey dynamics, and how humans influence these trophic cascades applying camera traps as one of the tool.

Kamil Morawski

Hardware developer and technical expert

Technical expert at MRI PAS and hardware developer focusing on field-ready sensor and data acquisition devices for ecological research. Designs and implements Raspberry Pi–based prototypes (acoustic analyzers and triggered camera traps) and applies machine learning for acoustic and camera trap data detection.

Maja Pieńkos

Art Director

Designer, illustrator, motion designer, and video editor with over 8 years of experience. Often exploring life in beautiful, remote places, learning and teaching yoga, meditating, and supporting OSCF with all visual challenges.

Izabela Stachowicz (Izza)

Project Manager and researcher

Ecologist at MRI PAS, expert in disturbance ecology in Neotropical mammals, with extensive camera trapping experience. Focuses on tech-driven conservation and sustainable development in South America. Holds a Ph.D. in Ecology from Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas

Piotr Tynecki
